The IcARUS mid-term conference is opening in Riga, Latvia, on 12 May!
   
   
   

The IcARUS project, which seeks to thoroughly re-examine the tools and methods available to local security actors, is organising a mid-term conference on 12-13 May to take stock of the work carried out in the past two years and look ahead at the next two years. Efus, which designed and leads this ambitious project, invites all interested members to take part in this event that will be held immediately after the General Assembly meeting, in Riga (Latvia).

A seminar for the City of Piraeus on the strategic approach to urban security
   
   

Efus organised on 21 March an online seminar for the members of the Local Council for Crime Prevention (LCCP) of the City of Piraeus (Greece) in order to present the main elements of the strategic approach to urban security. Piraeus established the LCCP as part of the BeSecure-FeelSecure European project, which it leads.

The province of Rimini established in 2013 an Observatory on Organised Crime and for the Promotion of a Culture of Legality. We met with one of its directors, Ivan Cecchi, from the Municipality of Bellaria Igea Marina. (See also the practice sheet below).

Efus at the European Crime Prevention Network's biennial conference
   
   

Efus took part in the biennial conference of the European Crime Prevention Network, on 28-29 April in Brussels (Belgium), whose theme was the partnership approach to crime prevention. Efus intervened in a panel on cross-border cooperation and on the exchange of information at the local, regional and European level.

We are pleased to announce that the Women in Cities Initiative (WICI) has been incorporated into Efus, reflecting our commitment to adopting a feminist, gender-based perspective throughout our work and activities. Observatory on Organised Crime and for the Promotion of a Culture of Legality
   

A tourism hotspot, the province of Rimini is also a magnet for organised crime. In order to better understand, prevent and counter this phenomenon, it established in 2013 an Observatory on Organised Crime and for the Promotion of a Culture of Legality, with the support of the Emilia Romagna Region. This podcast series explores the current risks and threats affecting European cities' public spaces and how to address and mitigate them. Following a short introduction, the podcast discusses:
